NEFC closes regular season with wins

NELSONVILLE, Ohio - After spotting Hocking six points at Boston Field, ASA ran off 76 unanswered points as the No. 17 Avengers closed the regular season with a 76-6 win Saturday, their sixth-straight victory.

Edward Morgan caught two touchdown passes while Alphonse Howard ran for two touchdowns and 115 yards and threw for four more scores and 329 yards. Morgan caught seven passes for 155 yards.

Monroe 40, Erie 14

NEW ROCHELLE, New York - Sean Kelly threw for 226 yards and two scores as Monroe recorded a 40-14 win over Erie Saturday.

The Mustangs trailed 14-13 after the first quarter but rallied to close the regular season 8-2.

Rasheed Martin ran for 174 yards and a touchdown while Malique Merchant added 138 rushing yards a score. Tyler Bailey ran for two touchdowns.

Lackawanna 41, No. 11 Georgia Military 34

HUNTINGTON, West Virginia - In a game that saw eight lead changes and was tied at 34 late in the fourth quarter, Lackawanna handed No. 11 Georgia Military a 41-34 loss at Marshall University's Edwards Stadium Sunday.

Lackawanna quarterback Michael Dare scored on a five-yard run with four minutes remaining to give the Falcons the 41-34 lead. That score was set up when GMC muffed a Lackawanna punt and the Falcons recovered.

However, GMC took the succeeding kickoff and moved to the Lackawanna 20. On third down, GMC’s pass attempt in the end zone was intercepted by JaQuan Brisker with 2:11 left in the game. Lackawanna then ran out the clock.

JoEl Shaw ran for 75 yards on 28 carries. Dare threw for 350 yards on 22 completions and ran for two touchdowns. Juwan Green caught nine passes for 151 yards and a TD. Green also returned two kickoffs for 108 yards.
