Oct. 17, 2017 - The Northeast Football Conference has selected ASA’s Jakai Gill and Lackawanna’s Loudon Cloud and Isaiah Howard as the conference’s players of the week.

Gill, a 5-foot-9, 150-pound sophomore wide receiver from Hartford, Connecticut, caught 10 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown in the Avengers’ 50-6 nonconference win over Erie. The receiving yards are the most in a game this season while the reception total is second.

Cloud, a 6-foot, 250-pound freshman linebacker from Bedford, Ohio, recorded four solo tackles and an interception in No. 19 Lackawanna’s 19-0 win over previously unbeaten and No. 15 Monroe. Cloud, who also made a tackle for loss, returned the interception 49 yards to set up the Falcons’ second score. He was also the Sept. 25 NEFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Howard, a 6-foot, 166-pound freshman kicker from Newport News, Virginia, made two field goals and an extra-point kick in the Falcons’ win. His 41-yard field goal is the longest this season in the NEFC.

The honorees will now be considered for NJCAA national players of the week.
