NORTHEAST FOOTBALL CONFERENCE
April 28, 2018 – Former Northeast Football Conference standouts Ian Thomas and Kyzir White were chosen in the fourth round of the 2018 National Football League Draft.
Both individuals were two-time all-NEFC selections.
White was a first-team defensive back in 2015 and after earning third-team honors in 2014. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fourth round, the 119th overall pick. White an a NEFC Defensive Player of the Week once in 2015 at Lackawanna.
Thomas, who was picked by Carolina as the first pick of the fourth round, the 101st pick overall. He was a second-team All-NEFC selection at tight end in 2014 and a third-team pick in 2015 while at Nassau.
The selections of Thomas and White means that the NEFC has had two players selected in the fourth round in the past two NFL Drafts. Rasul Douglas, the 2014 NEFC Defensive Player of the Year, and Joe Williams, were drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers, respectively. A former NEFC player has been drafted in the fourth round four times in the last five years. Lackawanna has five players drafted during that time.
