ASA falls in opener

GARDEN CITY, New York - Aug. 25 - Nassau scored two first-quarter touchdowns and held off No. 12 ASA 14-12 Saturday at Mitchel Field.

Khalid Morris threw two touchdowns to Cortez Ervin to rally the Avengers. Morris finished with 221 yards passing while Ervin had team-high honors in receptions (4) and receiving yards (72).

Chris Bournes made nine total tackles and had a tackle for loss to lead ASA, which is 0-1 and will play Navy Prep Sept. 1 at 2 p.m.
