Jets draft former Lackawanna tight end

April 27, 2019 - Former Lackawanna tight end Trevon Wesco was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Wesco played five games for Lackawanna College during the 2014 season. He caught five passes for 47 yards before season was cut short due to an injury. ESPN ranked Wesco as the No. 3 JUCO tight end. Wesco redshirted the following season and then transferred to West Virginia University. He was named All-Big 12 in 2018 after catching 26 passes for 366 yards and a touchdown.

Wesco is the fifth Lackawanna product and eighth member from an NEFC institution selected in the past six NFL Drafts. The NEFC has had an individual selected in the fourth round in three-straight and five of the last six NFL Drafts.

In addition, several former NEFC standouts signed as undrafted free agents. They are:
