Bell named NJCAA Player of the Week

Nov. 13, 2019 - Lackawanna running back Calvin Bell was named the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week today. Bell, a 6-foot, 220-pound sophomore running back from California, Maryland, ran for three touchdowns as No. 2 Lackawanna defeated No. 9 Georgia Military, 37-30. His third touchdown gave the Falcons a 37-23 lead at the time. He finished with 19 carries for 139 yards. Bell had a 53-yard run in the first quarter to set up the Falcons' first score.

Bell joins Lackawanna safety Ja'yir Brown, placekicker Cameron Ceccotti and quarterback Matt Cavallaro and ASA kicker/punter Andres Espinoza as Northeast Football Conference student-athletes honored this season.

Bell is the 24th NEFC student-athlete selected to the weekly honor since the start of the 2011 season.
