Lackawanna extends streak to 19

Oct. 19, 2019 - SCRANTON, Pennsylvania - No. 3 Lackawanna extended its win streak to 19 games with a 69-6 win over Hocking at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

The Falcons, who have the NJCAA's longest active win streak, improved to 7-0 as quarterback Matt Cavallaro threw six touchdown passes on 12 completions for 210 yards. Cavallaro has 18 touchdown passes, placing him tied for ninth on the Northeast Football Conference single-season rankings.

Quentin Sanders caught two of the touchdown passes from Cavallaro and added a rushing touchdown. Sameer Parks also caught two touchdown passes.

The Falcons intercepted six passes. Mike Crawford and Jasiah Purdie each returned their interceptions for touchdowns.

Lackawanna plays Nassau Oct. 26 at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

No. 14 Monroe 53, Hudson Valley 0

NEW ROCHELLE, New York - Dominique Shoffner ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more as No. 14 Monroe improved to 6-1 after recording a 53-0 nonconference win over Hudson Valley CC at Joseph F. Fosina Field. Shoffner completed 15 of 28 passes for 238 yards.

The Mustangs outgained Hudson Valley CC 471-176 and they rushed for 194 yards, while the nation's leading run defense held the Vikings to just 42 rushing yards.

The Mustangs visit Northeast Football Conference rival and No. 20-ranked ASA 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, N.Y.
