No. 3 ASA loses in inaugural Carrier Dome Bowl

SYRACUSE, New York - Dec. 1, 2012 - Turnovers plagued No. 3 ASA in the inaugural Carrier Dome Bowl, hosted by the Northeast Football Conference. As a result of four turnovers, No. 4 Snow converted those miscues into points in the 47-21 win.

Snow, which led the nation in forced turnovers, started drives in ASA territory. Interceptions by Zac Christian, Dalton Brady and Shawn Sharkey set Snow up once at midfield and another time at the Avenger 6-yard line.

Quarterback Christian Stewart, who was selected the offensive player of the game. completed passes to six different receivers for 283 yards and three touchdowns.

Snow scored first on a 21-yard pass from Stewart to tight end Evan Moeai. The Avengers tied it up on a 1-yard run by Hosey Williams, the NEFC Offensive Player of the Year, at the end of the opening period. Williams ran for 97 yards in the contest.

Snow's Spencer Groner gave it the lead again with a 43-yard field goal. Stewart then completed a 75-yard scoring pass to Damond Powell five minutes into the second quarter made the score 17-7 for the Badgers and opened the floodgates. Breon Allen, who entered the game as the nation's leading rusher, scored on an 8-yard run before and a Groner 24-yard field goal made it 26-7 at halftime.

Brady and Christian intercepted passes on consecutive possessions to thwart ASA's comeback attempt. Kalama Molisi ran it in from 2 yards out and Stewart hit Lowry Akers in the corner of the end zone for a 15-yard score near the end of the third period.

The Badgers took a 47-7 lead after ASA misplayed a punt attempt in its end zone. The score marked Snow's ninth defensive or special teams touchdown of the season, tops in the nation.

ASA's Evan Pittman came in and completed 8 of 12 passes for 112 yards and touchdowns to Ouslet Volcy and Dahon Taylor.
